Cornbelt Chapter History
The Beginning
The Cornbelt Chapter of AMBUCS was chartered on November 18, 1982, with 32 members. From the beginning we focused on community service by building wheelchair ramps, later giving AmTrykes (Therapeutic Tricycles), and scholarships for therapists.
The first Installation Banquet to charter the chapter was held on December 4, 1982, at Central Station in downtown Bloomington. The AMBUCS motto has always been, “Shoulders Together”.
Today
Today the Cornbelt Chapter has 38 members. We have averaged 20 ramps per year. We give scholarships to therapy students. We provide Amtrykes when there is a need. We participate in community service projects throughout the year.
